Dear Automobilia Supporters,
We want to thank you for your continued commitment to donating and supporting the 2020 Automobilia Moonlight Charity Car Show and we look forward to seeing you all very soon.
With the recent news coming out of the Governor's office requiring everyone to wear a mask while in public areas, this has also caused the Car Show a slight set back. We have been informed that The City of Wichita has decided to suspend all public events and denied our permit for the Automobilia Car Show event. While we respect the City’s concerns for the public’s safety, we feel we have taken all the necessary precautions to ensure that all Car Show attendees will be safe while attending the Car Show.
With this new development, the Automobilia Car Show’s Non-profit board members met on June 29th, to discuss all safety measures we have in place and any additional safety measures that may be required by the Governor’s office, Sedgwick County’s office and the City of Wichita. Currently, we are in the process of appealing the City of Wichita’s decision. Once the City of Wichita receives our appeal, they have will have 30 days to review our request and submit their final decision to approve or deny our permit. We have always maintained a positive relationship with the City of Wichita staff and the City Council for the last 26 years and believe the City of Wichita knows we can accomplish a safe and secure event.
Sedgwick County currently has no restrictions in place that would prohibit the show from continuing as planned.
Additionally, we value our relationships with all of our Sponsors and Vendors and want to update you on all of the additional precautions and steps we are taking to ensure everyone’s safety. These steps include increased safety through personal PPE, double the number of public restrooms, public hand washing/hand sanitation stations, and also added UVC technology for the transfer of food sanitation. We have also hired a Covid-19 clean team and tripled the footprint of the Car Show to allow for social distancing. With these extra expenses to add these additional safety measures, we are in need of additional resources. If you or your company has access to cleaning supplies, hand sanitation supplies, Covid-19 awareness signage or would like to assist with providing additional resources to the Car Show please contact us to discuss how you can help. If we all work together, we can help ensure a safe environment for you, your company, and the public.
Thank you so much for your patience and support of the Automobilia Car Show!
